assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C.; died May 9 due to wounds sustained in an enemy explosion while conducting combat operations in the vicinity of Karmah, Iraq.
