assigned to 562nd Engineer Company, 172nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, Fort Wainwright, Alaska; killed June 29 when he was shot by enemy forces while on mounted patrol in Mosul, Iraq.

Bryan was born August 27, 1980, in Tampa, Fla. Bryan was a faithful and devout Christian. Bryan was saved at 4, baptized at 12, and he was called to preach at 15. Starting at the age of 13, Bryan was involved in the bus ministries as worker and a bus captain in every church that he attended. Bryan graduated from Emmanuel Christian Academy in 1999, and he attended Hyles-Anderson College from 1999-2000. On June 9, 2001, he married his wife, Catherine… Bryan’s passion was to minister, he loved children, he always had a smile on his face, and always saw the best in everyone. Bryan and Catherine are expecting their first child in October, and he would have been a wonderful father. Their son will be named after him, Bryan Christian Luckey Jr.
