I see where you were going with this Tommy, but it’s quite an oversimplification to consider the two editorials to be contradictory. If someone were spewing loud speech augmented by subsonic bass rhythms after midnight on a regular basis with the Times taking their defense you might have a case. Loud music played with disregard to the time or surroundings is not at all the same as a group of fools with megaphones at a public event during daylight hours. Surely, even with your musician goggles on, you can appreciate the difference.
