24, of Hollywood, Fla.

assigned to the 7th Squadron, 10th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Hood, Texas; killed Oct. 4 after being attacked by enemy forces using small arms fire and other weapons in Taji, Iraq. Also killed were: Pfc. Dean R. Bright, Staff Sgt. Christopher O. Moudry and Spc. George R. Obourn Jr.

Burke graduated in 2001 from South Broward High School, where he played football and wrestled. He enlisted in the Army in 2004 to further his dream of becoming a paramedic…
