Army Spc. Nicholas K. Rogers

27, of Deltona, Fla.

assigned to the 4th Battalion, 31st Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, N.Y.; died Oct. 22 from injuries sustained when his patrol came in contact with enemy forces during combat operations in Baghdad.

Nick graduated from Deltona High School in 1997, was a member of the Deltona High Blue Brigade Band, active in the Boy Scouts Troop 565, and a graduate of DBCC EMT Program. He was a Certified Medical Technician before enlisting in the Army in February 2005… Nick was an active and compassionate man who always felt a strong desire to help others around him, friend or foe.
