- Judy Hill is now a real blogger. She promised a series, and quickly let it fall to the wayside. Hey, it happens.
- SurrealMuse (aka Brian and Natalie) took video shots of TMOA’s Art After Dark.
- Sarah in Tampa says you can now get an unbloated PC from Dell.
- My Florida History notes that in the 1920’s you could take the train from downtown Tampa to Tampa Downs (now Tampa Bay Downs) to watch the ponies race.
- It’s been rumored that ABC Action News anchor Brendan McLaughlin will be starting his own blog for the TV station website. But first, he’s asking questions about his Tampa Heights neighbors. (by the way, scroll halfway down the page, look on the right, and check out the ABC Action News blog of the week!)
- Taxi Tim says the Bucs are gonna capitalize on scalped tickets.
- Tampa Rail says the TECO streetcar was featured in the Wall Street Journal.

My grandma recently talked my grandfather into getting a cellphone. He fought it for years, but she insisted that if he was going to drive home alone late at night, that she wanted him to have one in case of emergency. He finally relented and got one. Sure enough he was running late one night, and she heard on the radio that there was a driver heading down I-75 the wrong way. Worried she called him up and asked if he was on his way home yet. He said “Yep.” Then she asked him if he was taking I-75. He told her he was. She told him to be extra careful because someone was driving the wrong way. To which he replied, “Someone? Hell, there’s hundreds of ‘em.”

Here’s one I heard Brian Johnson of AC/DC tell on Cowhead’s show early this morning: A guy in a hotel decides to call up an escort service and tells the lady on the other end of the line all the kinky stuff he wants. To which she replies, “Sir you need to dial 9 for an outside line.” Oh my side!
