iorio added 175 positions
You reap what you sew.
Buried at the bottom of the Tribune article detailing the City of Tampa Job Cuts is this little nugget:
Iorio has added 175 positions since she took office in 2003.
Considering the news plastered all over your local media today, is this not a part of the story?
We have seen the list of 219 positions and salaries that were cut (pdf). I’d like to see a list of those 175 positions she invented along with the salaries. Anyone else?

Listen! The only thing that lady is weeping and crying the blues over is all the money she wont get from us taxpayers. Money she’s been throwing around like it growing on trees. Now she threatens, cuts jobs, raises fee’s, and boo hoo’s all over the press and T.V. Stations about our hardship to come. ? Tell me Sir, how much is that ad on the television running the taxpayers….for her Riverwalk? Who voted for her? I didn’t. Poor Tampa, were stuck with the babe!

There has to be a better perspective than government is always bad and evil and so of course it must be “boo hooing” artificially about losing any degree of fiscal strength. I would like to see that list of employees and what not as well, as I’m sure it would simply be one illustrating enhanced and empowered local government. Something we sorely need more of, not less.

Could very well be, Dave. Which is why I’d like to see a list…

Tommy: “C.W., would you like to see a li-”
C.W.: “YEEEESS!”
(Furthermore, I wanna know why the hell Cabaret Paul Wilborn got $90K a year for a cake job where he evidently didn’t do anything except go to plays and art shows. Where do I request a refund?)

oh my god this is what I KEEP bitchin about. Thank YOU! LOL !
Anyway, there is a fullscale list available in the Tampa Trib from an article published in same.
I have it at home but won’t waste my time searching the trib’s nonexistent archives. They disappear things.
I think tons of dead wood sits right outside her door.
I could name names.
And relate conversations.
But, I’m savin’ that.
I think the Trib gets most of it’s information from my blog but I think that’s AWESOME. There aren’t so many people telling the truth in Tampa as some of us are willing to do and a little truth infusion is just what the Trib NEEDS.

maybe they can ALL get together and pat us down then. Regionalism is definitely NOT something we should be interested in promoting. Bush-ites push it. push back.
I remember reading the list and not being impressed other than feeling she owed some favors and too bad more people I knew (and liked) weren’t on her list.
The list will change nothing.
How does it suddenly take ONE HUNDRED SEVENTY FIVE more people to administer the same city I don’t care about the growth???
That makes zero sense as it did when I read it.

It’s a shame that all these people lost jobs, but in my opinion the issue isn’t whether property taxes are too high, it’s the value that we are getting for those taxes. Some of these people are just collateral damage from a govt that is spending $$ where we don’t care.
