brendan’s flashpoint blog debuts

DCDave, as he is known around these parts, used to contribute quite a bit to Sticks of Fire. Until, that is, he got a gig with ABC Action News as the webguy over there, and became known as David Francois. If you visit the Channel 28 website, you may have noticed changes to the thing as DCDave tweaks and perfects.

A recent addition is the “BLOG OF THE WEEK” advertisement on their home page (scroll down about 2/3). They are currently highlighting local tech wonderkind Sarahintampa. Sticks was honored with the designation a couple weeks ago.

Other changes include new blogs by the ABC Action News team. They already have Sports Talk with contributions by Al Keck and Tom Korun, as well as the Rica the Intern blog. The newest ABC Action Blog is Brendan McLaughlin’s Flashpoint blog. So, what will be different about Brendan’s blog? From his intro – Just what the world needs…:

Here’s what to expect at the Flashpoint Blog:

• -Interesting details on news reports that wouldn’t fit in Flashpoint or our ABC Action news broadcasts..
• -Humble opinions
• -Keen and not-so-keen observations about life in the Tampa Bay Area
• -Cool articles by other journalists and bloggers
• -Occasional sermons and rants
• -Amateur book, restaurant and movie reviews
• -Kvetching, whining and bellyaching
• -Postings by other denizens of the ABC Action Newsroom

Furthermore, his goal is to “create a fun and lively forum in which to share information and ideas.”
