tampa bay giants
If the San Francisco Giants had completed the move to Tampa Bay in 1992, would Barry Bonds have already helped the local team win the World Series?
“Look at who we have here; me, Kazmir, Bobby Abreu. This is better than the team that won the title in 2002,” Bonds said as he took a swig of his juice. “If Rocco is healthy, it’ll be a sweep this time.”

Bonds wasn’t a member of the Giants until the new ownership group that unsurped Vince Naimoli signed him away from the Pittsburgh Pirates.
I can’t even have fun speculating over this — Mcgowan and Naimoli/Sternberg are totally different owners in totally different markets. Oh, and one last thing: If Barry Bonds had gone to a Tampa Bay team, we still wouldn’t have won anything. Barry Bonds is one of the worst playoff performers that you can find.

But if Chicago had moved here, the Tampa White Sox might have won a World Series.
