bucs receiver thrown a curve?

You know that Bucs wide receiver David Boston was charged with DUI.

But did you see the video of his DUI examination? I know - we are not supposed to fall asleep at a green light. But I agree with Tom Korun, who says Boston doesn’t look inebriated.

It’s a long video, but take a look, and tell me what you see there.

I don’t think he looks under the influence of anything, and I disagree with Tom Korun — I don’t think the cop was professional.

Sure, like a robot, he conducted the test. And while I believe he was correct in denying Boston an attorney as signing his license gives the police the right to conduct a sobriety test at whim, it seemed like nothing Boston was doing was good enough for this officer.

To me, it sounded like Boston was exhausted. Had fallen asleep at a light. And was irritated that a cop had woken him up and accused him of being under the influence.

The cop knew who he was, brought it up several times, and even brought up the fact that it was being videotaped (and likely will be made available for public consumption). It sounded like this cop was looking for his 15 minutes of fame, and was going to find SOMETHING to arrest Boston for.

I have worked some long days BEHIND A DESK, and had to drive a couple hours back somewhere on little sleep. I’m amazed I haven’t been stopped for dozing at a red light.

If he WAS under the influence, then get him. I have lost a lot of friends to drunken driving (and other driving under the influence). But take your witch hunts and your seeking of your 15 minutes of fame elsewhere.

The cop offered to alter the test for him? They have a scorecard for the field test and each failure, such as weaving back and forth or putting your hands out while walking, is a check against you. Enough checks and you “fail”. Keep in mind though very few people can pass these tests at all. If they file charges against him the jury sees all of this and will hear all of this too.

He certainly wasn’t inebriated, even the cop said it wasn’t alcohol that he suspected.

The cop was making notes that he wasn’t counting when he was walking. Despite having two bad knees, he still did a pretty damn good job of walking the line.

He even balanced himself on one leg as if he was in Cirque du Soleil. And every single time, the cop dismissed it because of his extreme athletic ability.

And what kind of moron doesn’t know that the vast majority of professional football players don’t finish college? Where did he get his police certification?

    What was the outcome?

He sure looks a lot more coherent and unimpaired than I feel right now and I haven’t imbibed.

What a waste of time! The officer seems to drag it out and sounds patronizing.
