Morin Development | In Development > West End Tampa:
The Morin Development Group is managing the efforts to bring to life this desirable location through the introduction of 1,000,000 square feet of residential and commercial space. Encompassing eight city blocks, West End Tampa will energize the city through the introduction of 550 apartments, 60 town homes, 340 condominiums, and 25,000 square feet dedicated to local retailers, restaurants and office space. During 2007 and through the years ahead, the Morin Development Group will lead the way in revitalizing the West Tampa area for the benefit of all.

This is the project Councilman Miranda came unhinged about when Morin offered to put up a huge amount of money to benefit the surrounding neighborhood, and had to take it back. Uncle Charlie called it a bribe. Hmm.

It’s not really in “West Tampa” it’s more like “North Hyde Park”… basically between Rome and Oregon from Cypress south to North B… converting industrial/commercial to mixed use… it’s urban infill, and this is all a good thing.

The Morin development is going to be pretty nice no matter what you call the area it is going up in. So will the armory redevelopment project that will definitely breathe new life into West Tampa. It will offer jobs, shopping, a park, farmers market, a place for local artists to work and display their creations, restaurants, a hotel, much needed parking and office space. A W Tampa history musuem is also part of the plan.
