pick your poison

It is expected that the state of Florida will have to allow expanded gaming at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. It’s just a matter of time before you can head over to the sacred Indian land and put $100 on red or black.

But we all know that gambling has been in Tampa forever. Bolita was the preferred game for a while in Ybor City, then other gambling options showed up. Tampa Jai Alai opened shop just south of Gandy on Dale Mabry (now a Home Depot). Derby Lane and Tampa Greyhound (now just a poker room) took you to the dogs, you can still play the ponies at Tampa Bay Downs, the Seminole Indians started with a simple Bingo Hall, and now have gone to the fake bingo-based slot machines, and call it a casino. Small cruise ships can take you ten miles out for real table games. And there is always the Florida Lottery.

So which is your favorite?

the dog track of course. it’s not in the list, however. LOL !!!!!!!!!!
I think it’s a real hoot how bush appoints all these losers to the dept of the interior and then they all get together and pretend that they are forcing gambling on us. Win or lose.
What a joke on society for a vice that was completely outlawed in the 20’s.
No matter to me here comes my money, yall have what ya want.
    Pity those who it hurts.

I went to JAI LAI in Miami great,Rivera Beach great,in Fort Lauderdale mediocer, never went in Tampa.Dog races I went to in Miami,in Riviera Beach mediocer, never went in Tampa. Seminole bingo I went to in Hollywood-Iloved it-and I watched it grow into slot machines and betting games then we moved to Tampa, our friends came in from Fort Lauderdale to play bingo in the non-smoking room. Then I had a stroke and they took me to play the slot machines. The Seminole Indians learned abig lesson when they hired outsiders to open THE HARD ROCK, YOU LOSE MORE THAN YOU MAKE WHEN SOMEONE ELSE GIVES YOU ONLY A SMALL PORTION OF THE GROSS. We in Tampa have to learn that lesson.
