Army Sgt. 1st Class David A. Heringes
Another great hero from Tampa, Florida died in Iraq.
David A. Heringes 36, of Tampa, Fla. was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, in Fort Bragg, N.C. He died Aug. 24 near Tikrit, Iraq, of wounds sustained when an improvised explosive device detonated near his unit during combat operations in Bayji, Iraq.

i served with David in the 82nd and he was a great friend, may god bless him and his family

I served with Dave in the 82nd also. He was a great friend and I still remember the great times we enjoyed sitting back having a cool one and letting off steam after a long day at work. I am sure our partner in crime Jerry Taul will miss you as much as I miss you now. Fayetteville will not be the same without you there! Rest in piece my friend. Airborne All the Way!!!
