finding like minds

TBO.com has put together a nice map of Bay Area Sports Bars. Along with a story by Damn Fine Writer Jeff Houck on the Green Bay Packer fans that hang out at the Varsity All-American Sports Bar & Grille in Clearwater, the map highlights various sports bars, and you can find out which football teams they follow.

Of course, if you are looking for the bar that carries, say, the Baltimore Ravens games, you have to click through each location to see which fans are where. Wouldn’t it be neat if you had a map that showed just the Ravens fans’ havens? Or just where to find all the Packers snackers? Or single out the places to find shills for the Bills? It sure would be neato!

Hey wait!! - we’re smack in the middle of the WEB 2.0 phenomenon. We can make our own darn map! Take a visit to Tommy’s Tampa Bay area team finder map, and easily find where your favorite team’s fans are likely to gather. Click on your team’s name in the legend, and only those places that have your teams will show up.

Feel free to add comments to each entry, or the map itself. We got all the addresses from the Tribune’s map. But if your bar, team, and tv joint is not listed - just add it. I’m sure your fellow Bengal fans (or Raiders or Cornhuskers, etc.) will appreciate it.

Wow, tbo.com is missing quite a few ion South Tampa..Press Box on Dale Mabry, Champps at Intl Plaza, Hawk’s on Bay to Bay, Elmer’s on MacDill Ave, Green Iguana on Westshore Blvd, , Lime on Howard Ave, CDB’s upstairs on Westshore Blvd(ok the last three are not JUST sports but great venues to watch sports)

Nice work, Tommy. There’s a million sports bars around here, and they all cater to different audiences… nice for those of us new around here and not yet ready to swallow the Bucs :-) Football’s different than baseball in that way, I think.

I meet up with the huge crowd of Browns fans at the UA Hangout on Fowler. Good times.

If you’re a hockey fan, the good news is you have Hattrick’s. The bad news is that’s pretty much it.

    Thanks for the love.

Glad you liked the story, T, but did you have to go and nick the whole map thing?

    Et tu, Tomme? Et tu?

A word of warning: if you do a locator map to capitalize on Mrs. Harvey’s White Fruitcake recipe being published in November, it’s pistols at 50 paces at dawn.

    Great map Tommy.

We need to add, of course, the University of South Florida BULLS!!

Let me know if you need those locations.
