rays of change
We all know that the Devil Rays are changing their name, changing their logo, and changing the uniforms. But what no one knows is that there is a festival to celebrate and “officially” announce all the changes. And what even fewer people know: There is a website to announce the announcement.
If you click on Rays Of Change, you may be the first person to see this new website, and although you cannot tell by looking around the whole page, it IS affiliated with the Devil Rays.
A concert by Kevin Costner and Modern West will be the highlight of the evening, and old-timers Wade Boggs and Fred McGriff will be showing off the new unis.

Start with the uniforms…next thing will be a shakedown for a new stadium then -poof- off to another city. (The whole Tampa Bay thing is just ridiculous, anyway. The team is located in St. Petersburg. What? Was that too big to put on the jerseys or just trying to be all things to all fans?) Dropping the Tampa Bay is the beginning of the end of the road.

It looks like fun and a good community event, at least they are trying. Last year they made a lot of changes to try and get people out there to watch our team, all good changes. If they leave it will be because nobody goes.

Umm… all Tampa Bay teams are “Tampa Bay.” Much like teams in Minneapolis-St. Paul are “Minnesota,” or how the New York Giants play in New Jersey, and on and on.

Um, it’s not really a secret. There are signs for it ALL OVER St. Petersburg.
Because it’s our baseball team. (Pfft!)

Methinks prose is awfully defensive there. For once I wasn’t referring to any particular newspaper.
I was making light of the webpage being a) boring b) ignored and c) unclear. You know, sorta like my posts on Sticks of Fire.
