Sticks of Fire: a Tampa blog

How about a big round of applause for Sarah of Sarah in Tampa. A few months ago, her tech blog caught the eye of Microsoft, and they agreed to pay her for opining on Channel 10 (Microsoft’s tech site, not Reggie’s place). Now this year, ReadWriteWebwants her stuff too!!

I’m being offered a position as a freelance writer for the website ReadWriteWeb.com (My first post is here: http://www.readwriteweb.com/archives/hoosgot_revives_the_lazy_web.php). I talked to my boss at Microsoft and he said that I can write as much as I want for them, so I now have enough work to let me QUIT MY DAY JOB AND WORK FROM HOME!!! YAY!!

Depending on how much I can crank out per day, I may even end up making MORE money than going to work every day at the bank. Joel still has his new job which pays well, so he is more than happy to allow me this opportunity. The details of the agreement are still being worked out, so I have not yet given notice at the bank yet, but should be able to do so in the next day or two.

Anyway, I’m really, really, really happy about this and wanted to share it with all of you right away!

Shortly after that email, Sarah told us she did turn in a 4 week notice, and will now be a full time freelance blogger.

Sarah, I think I can speak for your local fans when I say we are all really, really, really happy for you, and that you deserve this and more… Congratulations
