Planning commissioners overwhelmingly rejected three developments proposed for outside the urban service boundary for high-density, city-like development.
Alas, all they can do is recommend the denial to the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners. It will be up to the BOCC to actually nix this idea. I’m guessing it will be a close vote, but they too will deny the developments.

Tommy, it will be interesting to see how the BOCC reacts to the recommendation of the Planning Commission, who they’ve been trying to weaken or axe for years. The way I see it the Planning Commission is the only thing standing between the citizens and the ignorance and greed of the local land development industry. Of special note is that one of the developers recently refused is none other than Stephen Dibbs, public spearhead of the “let’s get rid of the EPC wetlands division” movement of late. How will Stevie take being rejected his borrow pit in Lutz? No doubt Ralph Hughes is behind him, and the other usual suspects.
