U-CAN Hillsborough on Ralph Hughes:
“one of the most powerful building industry people in the Tampa Bay Area pushes for paving over Hilllsborough, except when its near his house.”
They might have a point there…

It’s amazing to me that someone so powerful can be so overlooked. Ralphie is quite literally the puppetmaster when it comes to the Hillsborough County Commission. When he pulls the string Blair, Hagan, Norman (and don’t forget Ronda) dance.
Of course, like any good extremist fanatic he is soley looking out for his own best interests. Having a pro-development commission has certainly not hurt his concrete for construction business, and let’s keep those impact fees low.
Here are a couple of articles that hint at the reach of this guy:

Want to change the County Commission? You’ll have to take on Ralph to do it, and watch out for his hallmark last minute misinformation mass mailers.
Temple Terrace got rid of ‘em, watch out South Tampa.

I just saw Ralph’s new house at 2 Sandpiper. I have not seen a more feeble attempt at Modernism. What a rube.
