Slight failure on what ball-jointed dolls are there.
They are made of resin and only the rarest of the rare, one of a kinds would be 'several thousand dollars', most are less than 600.

Ancient City Con is up in Jacsonville on Aug 2-3 2008. We won't be having a Vampire LARP but are looking to possibly have a Firefly LARP if I get enough interest. We will also be having Panels, Gaming, Anime and more. Check us out at http://www.ancientcitycon.com

There's also the Tampa Comic Book and Toy Convention, which occurs three or four times each year at the Doubletree Hotel on Cypress St. The next one is April 13 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It's a small but well-run convention (only $5 admission fee!) with various comic book artists and writers, sci-fi/horror actors and authors, an indie film fest, a costume contest, etc. The website is www.comicbookconventions.com/tampaconvention/index.html.

Also, check out www.vulkon.com for some other, sci-fi (Star Trek, Smallville, Stargate, etc.) conventions in Orlando:

Orlando Terminator Expo is May 16-18

Orlando Sci-Fi Expo is October 31-November 2
