tampabay catching up to tbo
The St. Pete Times is upgrading the tampabay.com website.
Dear Readers:
Earlier this week we made some technical upgrades on tampabay.com meant to improve your experience and our work processes. Unfortunately, just the opposite is happening in some cases.
Many links appear out of date, and certain features, such as the ability to view past editions, are not working.
Listen here, Times. Leave the screwed up websites to the professionals at TBO.com. But the Times promises they will fix it, eventually:
… I think it will take us days not hours to fix our issues.
Yipes…

I find the St. Pete Times TampaBay.com website condescending. Especially the “Submit Rant” button at the borttom of each story which is supposed to be used to submit public input on their stories.
Don’t bother! The Times edits almost every comment into oblivion, which is the opposite of TBO, which prints almost everything–this at least makes for some lively discussion.
Who’s is the real fascist?

Anonymous, Although every comment on a story on tampabay.com is approved by an editor before it is posted, we don’t edit the comments. They run in full or they don’t run at all. We try our best not to post profane or racist posts, for example.

off-topic, but still…
an sptimes newspaper box ate three of my quarters and i finally got sick of it and called their 800 number.
they were apologetic and vowed to send me a refund of my 75 cents. great!
weeks go by. yesterday, an envelope arrived. inside? no check, but two coupons good for ‘free’ sunday sptimes at convenience stores. plus, of course, much solicitation to subscribe…
a coupon is not a refund, sptimes.

Ifyou think the Times did some changing you should see what the Tribune did without telling its readers until they did it. If you are interested I would be glad to fill you in.
