pork barrel earmarks bad in 49 states
But not for the great state of Florida!
Gotta love those Tribune editorial stances.
When they complain about federal spending that is distributed across the nation, it’s pork.
When those bills bring the bacon to Florida, it’s “right.”
When that spending ends up in Tampa, it’s necessary earmarks.

Language is all they have as they have lost the power of independent thought.
Pork is bad for America no matter where it’s directed.

I’m late to this party but 95% of earmarks are for places like free clinics, womens’ shelters and food pantries. This whole notion that earmarks are inherently bad is not only blatantly wrong but purposely misleading.
Earmarks (or pork as they have been labeled) are a drop in the federal budget and even if they were all eliminated the budget would still be in trouble because of entitlement programs like Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid.
Fix entitlement programs first then take a look at earmarks.
