lights on tampa 2009 opens tonight

Lights on Tampa 2009 opens this evening at 5:30.  The display includes five public art installations created by major contemporary artists.  There will also be live music near some of the venues.  In addition, “Satellites” opens in the Channel District to take advantage of LOT visitors.  All the events are FREE and should be pretty cool to experience.

    I just realized hwo bad a start date thsi was. if it started a week earlier, it would be fine.

    Why the “bad” start date? Because of the full moon tonight. The moon is also at it’s closest for the entire year… So a bit of a stronger full moon to add it’s own “Lights on” to the experience.

    John that big beautiful moon made such a nice background for pictures! We went last night and it was very nicely done. The band outside of the parking garage was a very nice touch.
