People love rankings. Even those who say they hate these sort of lists really like them, since it gives them something to talk about. Thanks to our sponsors at (hey, do you wanna sponsor this series?), we’re going to attempt to find out how Tampa Bay Ranks on a regular basis.
This Old House went looking all over Canada and the U. S. for the the best places to buy an old house, and our very own Seminole Heights made the top eight editor’s pick.
They also ranked Seminole Heights among the best places to buy an old house for: Families, Green Thumbs, Cottages and Bungalows, Single Women Homebuyers, Porch Sitters, Walkers, and The South.
Of course, they mention nothing of the multitude of Seminole Heights bloggers, activists, local businesses, and great parks in the area.
Need to furnish that old house? Why not visit (your business here!) where you can always find just what you are looking for!

Yeah, Seminole Heights is “ok”, kind of a poor mans South Tampa, Hyde Park, or Temple Terrace.
Too bad about Nebraska Avenue and Florida Avenue, all the pawn shops and car lots can’t help property values much……not much to walk to unless you’re buying a used Neon.
Unfortunately, SH is still “good street next to a street with crack houses next to another good street”.

Seminole Heights for the most part is a great place to live. I have lived here for sometime and love the neighborly feel. With many new restauarants (6 about to open)on the horizon, I feel the neighborhood is about to expreience a new surge.
BTW, you are right about the miss of mention referring to the blog. The Offical UnOfficial Blog has become a daily must read along with yours. They were getting so much traffic they now have a new site. http://www.seminoleheightsblog.com
Thanks for discussing SH!

SH is great, but it’s certainly not a neighborhood for milksops, poltroons, or the diaphanous. Comparisons to Hyde Park and South Tampa are humorous, but if it makes you feel better, go for it. Those neighborhoods have only recently become en vogue with the Bourgeoisie and wannabe aristocrats. Temple Terrace is much scarier if you cross the wrong street and the homes there have no charm at all IMHO.
