What’s On at MTB – Week of October 26th, 2009

Music Tampa Bay adds three songs new to the website this week, though not necessarily new recordings. In fact, one track comes from a 1995 CD by a band led by a Tampa club owner and performer who is still making waves across the bay, Johnny G Lyon. Call Me Lover Boy #2 – from the Johnny G. Lyon Band (aka JGLB) album Give a Kid a Chance – is being heard for the first time this week.

Next is a song that is definitely new, the title track from the 2009 CD from the Indian Rocks Beach group Crossbridge, called Rumor Has It. Their entire CD will be heard in the MTB Feature Artist spotlight sometime in the coming weeks.

How long the third song being added this week has been around is not known, though it was recorded just last week during the first live webcast ever heard on the website, presented on-stage at Pro Star Studio in St Pete.  The Marys, from San Antonio, offer up the unofficial city song for their hometown called, appropriately enough, San Antonio, Florida.

The number one song in the MTB Top 10 this week is a hold over from last week, Wesley Chapel’s, Paul Guy Bovee and his song, Real Man.

The Feature Artist this week is song crafter Leigh Humes with selections from her brand new CD, which will be presented in a formal release party at the studio she owns with her husband a performing partner Steve Humes in Tampa in mid-November.

Music Tampa Bay is also grateful to Jeannette Goldman and Jody Gray, co-owners and operators at Pro Star Studio for their courtesy and assistance in presenting last week’s live streaming event, the first of what is hoped will be many such programs on Tampa Bay’s premier on-line source for All Original Music by Local Artists, Music Tampa Bay.com.

Check out all the new music, Top Ten, Big Bay 99 and Feature Artists on Tampa Bay’s source for all original music by local artists all the time, at Music Tampa Bay.com.
