The Center for Digital Government along with Digital Communities Magazine have announced the winners of their annual Digital Cities Survey, which “examines how municipalities incorporate information technology into operations which better serve citizens engaging with local government.”
This year, Tampa tied for 2nd place in the Digital Cities survey, and Tampagov.net tied for 5th place in the Best of the Web (Digital Government Achievement Awards).
In years past for Digital Government Achievement Awards, Tampagov captured first place in 2007, second place in 2006, third place in 2005, and first place in 2002.
Tampa has also been in the top five Digital Cities every year since 2002, winning first or second place five times.
Besides TampaGov.net, other top entities from Florida this year include Miami, MiamiDade.gov, Hollywood, Cape Coral, West Palm Beach, Jupiter, Boynton Beach, Delray Beach, and Wellington.
