Back in 2006, University of South Florida announced a plan to develop a “$60-to-$70-million high-technology advanced medical learning and simulation center.” Originally it was to be in USF Research Park on campus.

In 2008, they were looking for space across the street, near MOSI.

Now, USF is now considering building the Center for Advanced Medical Learning and Simulation in Tampa Heights on the river, currently home to nothing but a stalled residential project called The Heights of Tampa.

It’s not a done deal. The deal will include some of your tax money, and will take cooperation between the City of Tampa, Hillsborough County, USF, and the developer of The Heights.
