Back when the Southwest Florida Water Management District (known as Swiftmud) announced that they would be draining Medard Reservoir to fortify and refurbish, State Senator Ronda Storms tells the Tampa Tribune she had a simple idea. With plenty of fish liable to die from draining the reservoir, why not use them to feed the hungry.
The great idea came to fruition when Storms, along with Swiftmud and the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission delivered about 1,000 pounds of tilapia and catfish to America’s Second Harvest. The donation will feed about 700 people.
Great job, Rhonda!

Wow, never thought I’d say this, but I’m impressed by her. I’m sure she’ll do something stupid soon and ruin it, but still. Good show.
