Sticks of Fire: a Tampa blog

An idealist in a love/hate relationship with reality, Dawn is driven by her curiosity and an insane need to avoid boredom at all costs. An avid CSPAN watcher, she is full of contradictions. Growing up an Army Brat, she’s moved almost every 2 years of her life (still unable to shake the habit as an adult).

Dawn grew up in South Jersey (Exit 5), majored in media arts at Wesley College in Dover, DE, and found her progressive, natural - deodorant wearing self in the hills Seattle. Moving to Tampa in the Spring of ‘05, her roots quickly anchored into the community when she became a member of AmeriCorps / Hillsborough Reads and a volunteer at community radio 88.5 WMNF.

Dawn loves quality media sources (not to mention quality media hotties); she’s also volunteered with WEDU, TBCN, and WUSF’s Radio Reading Service.

Her long awaited dream of becoming a paid member of the liberal media came true on 12.01.06 when the folks at Creative Loafing claimed her as their Editorial Assistant.
