My friend Leah, who I have known since we were in High School, has been doing a slew of weird things lately that I haven’t entirely understood why. She’s told me she’s had “Pirate Practice” and has been practicing swordplay. She’s made minor mention of “Pirate Days” but I haven’t asked exactly what is going on, when or why.
I finally got my answer today:
Come on out to the Fifth Annual Florida Pirate Festival being held at Vinoy Park in St Petersburg on November 16th thru 18th. The fun starts on Friday from 5pm - 10pm and continues on Saturday from 10am - 10pm while concluding Sunday from 10am - 6pm.
Step back in time to 1720 when Tampa Bay was known as “Bay del Spirito Sancto” and participate in the Pirate gathering.
There will be games, human powered rides, fire show, stunt fighting, cannon demonstrations, food & grog, interactive childrens show, hot pirate babe model search, music and sea shanty’s, merchants, artisans, entertainers, and our own talented cast and crew.
Friday night fireworks display courtesy of The Great Extravaganza fund raiser and pyrotechnics.
Adult admission is $12, children are $8, Friday (today) is half price, and a three day pass costs 25 bucks. But with the great weather lately, it’s ha(rrgh)d not to want to get out and enjoy Florida with some fun, games and entertainment.
