October 1, 1926 – New Yorker J. Leonard Replogle purchases the Lafayette Arcade building for $900,000 ($9.5 million in today’s dollars). The building, which sits at the junction of Lafayette (now Kennedy), Grand Central and Magnolia, housed professional offices for doctors and lawyers, plus the Lafayette Bank and “exclusive shops.”
