Many who do usually get the hell out of the state as soon as possible and move someplace that has a clue. Unless you have ties to this place, those with personal integrity don't stick around; they don't enjoy designing or building mindless crap, and aiding in the wantant destruction of the natural environment that makes Florida unique. Traditionally, Florida is the cowboy/goof-off contractor's get-rich-quick dream, and central Florida is worse than many other parts of the state. The local Homebuilders Association would laugh but they should adopt the same mantra used by their cohorts in more mature (and better planned) regions: "First, do no harm". It is difficult to find many in the Florida Land Development industry that have much personal integrity. With so many Tampa Tribune still photographers being let go it leaves dual roles for 23 Channel 8 video folks to do it all. Now down from a staff of 28 in 1980's over a dozen have departed leaving 9 to cover Tampa and Metro area. The term or word "quality" is now called "acceptable" for images. sigh. They poop everywhere, possibly where there are children playing. And there's the fact that there are reports that people are purposefully killing off chickens. I, Sami (I am a girl, thank you very much) say, for our safety and the chickens, round 'em up and put them on a farm, not in a city where they can be run over by some idiot speeding. It would be nice to think that the decision makers (BOCC/EPC)would at least try to educate themselves about the wonderful environmental assets that we have in this County. I think that even if they had a little bit of knowledge, they would not be so inclined to listen to the biostitutes, but to those that actually know the truth of what is there.
